Farrer MP Sussan Ley has today recognised the contribution of our local farmers to mark National Agriculture Day.
National Agriculture Day 2025 is celebrated on Friday, 21 November with this year’s theme: “Stand with the Land.”
The day celebrates region’s farmers, producers and agricultural workers, recognising their vital role in sustaining local communities and contributing to Australia’s food security.
Farrer is home to many agricultural industries, including large-scale irrigation farming in the Murrumbidgee and Murray River regions, producing cotton, rice, irrigated cereals, dairy products, wool, fat lambs and cattle as well as citrus, grapes and vegetables.
“ To farmers everywhere in Australia. I want to say thank you for producing food and fibre to feed the nation and the world,” Ms Ley said.
“To do what you do in droughts, in floods with challenging commodity prices and international trade markets.
“Always with a smile on your face, always giving back to your community.
“A special shout out to the farmers in my electorate of Farrer on National Ag Day.
“Let’s all make sure that we say a really big thank you to our farmers.”
Happy National Ag Day!
